Tunisian general election, 1974 : ウィキペディア英語版 | Tunisian general election, 1974
General elections were held in Tunisia on 3 November 1974 to elect a President and Chamber of Deputies. At the time the country was a one-party state with the Socialist Destourian Party (PSD) as the sole legal party. Its leader, Habib Bourguiba, was the only candidate in the presidential election, and was re-elected unopposed. In the Chamber election, the PSD put forward a single list of candidates in each constituency. Voter turnout was 96.8% in the Chamber election.〔Nohlen, D, Krennerich, M & Thibaut, B (1999) ''Elections in Africa: A data handbook'', p918 ISBN 0-19-829645-2〕 In March 1975 Bourguiba was made President-for-life by the Chamber of Deputies.〔(Biography ) President Habib Bourguiba〕 As a result, there were no presidential elections until 1989. ==Results==
